BAYIRKÖY

Bayirkoy is a lovely mountain village with cypress and plane trees on the way from Marmaris to Selimiye-Bozburun. Even those who follow the tv series of Hanim Köylü know exactly where Saklıköy is located. Marmaris is 28 km away and you may come from Marmaris-Bozburun direction or you will see a road crossing to Bayırköy from Icmeler to Turunc directio. So you can also go by this road through the green view at the same time.

When you first arrive at Bayırköy, you will see a big plane tree of thirty-five meters at the center of the village. This is the symbol of village and symbolized good luck. It is believed that when people turn around the tree, they will live a happier and longer life. Here is a cute Chinaralti Coffee Shop. Whether you want to drink tea, coffee or eat pancake(gözleme) and other regional foods. We recommend you to drink water at the Girls' Fountain opposite that Plane tree.

Next to the mosque in the square and around the plane tree, there are the shops of the villagers, where you can buy local and organic oil, honey and souvenirs.

Marmaris's only historical olive oil factory is in this village. A short walk will take you to the oil factory via a pathway surrounded the bay trees.

You can also walk to Amos and Çiftlik Bay behind the Bayırköy. During this walk you will encounter the city walls, some structures and grave remains.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

Unfortunately there is no postal center and no ATM in Bayırköy. You can do it in Marmaris or Selimiye before coming here. Transportation with buses and Söğüt minibuses are avilable. But the last bus is at 8.00 pm.
