Marmaris Castle is very important because it provides a passage between the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Marmaris Castle, which was restored between 1980 and 1990, has been serving as the Archaeological Museum since 1991. Several exhibitions are exhibited belongin to Protohistoric ages from the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Republic periods in the closed spaces of exhibition halls in Kalenin and also in the open air exhibit areas.
